From 6 April 2024, the way in which you can take Statutory Paternity Leave (SPL) is changing. This does not impact any contractual paternity arrangements your employer may offer in addition to the statutory entitlement. The changes do not impact the statutory entitlement to pay, however, the statutory rates are being increased from April 2024.
The changes make it much more flexible to take the leave in a way that suits you and your new family.
